Properties hand picked for pleasure and profit, you could make a full
time hobby out of looking for your new home in Tenerife.

If you want traditional Canarian charm combined with a quiet setting and yet still close to the busier southern resorts, Los Abrigos is an excellent choice. It’s a magnet for all fish lovers as the small port serves much of it’s catch straight to the plates of the many delightful and affordable fish restaurants. The port area is closed to traffic and has a stone promenade that slopes gently down to the quayside, taking you past the selection of bars and restaurants.
Taking the Las Chafiras slip road off the main TF 1 motorway that connects the north and south of Tenerife, you drive down into Los Abrigos with the modern development of Golf del Sur on the right and Reina Sofia airport just 10 minutes away on the left hand side. This may not sound the ideal setting, but once you arrive in Los Abrigos you soon realize that it has retained it’s character and added modern, but fairly low level developments on the outskirts to meet the needs of a growing population.
There are no high rise hotels here, just a mix of old traditional fishermens homes at the front and modern town houses and apartments further back. To the western side of the town you will find a small secluded beach, ideal for bathing and rarely busy, it’s a little secret that you will come to enjoy.
This is a popular area for walkers and those keen on wildlife, fish, birds and plants all flourish here and although the pavements and walkways around the town have been improved, they are very much in character and don’t intrude on the many wilder, untouched spots.
The sea is very much the focus in terms of work and culture and every June 13 the patron Saint of Granadilla de Abona, San Antonio de Padua is celebrated with a religious celebration that ends with a huge party in the main square. It’s been a balancing act to integrate new settlers without spoiling the charm of the town, but they have pulled it off and large numbers of British residents live at ease alongside families that can trace their roots back to the days of the Guanches, the original inhabitants.
The town is growing, rather than sprawling and new developments compliment those that are already here. The close links to the airport, several golf courses, the motorway, schools and the nightlife of Los Cristianos and Las Americas, makes it a perfect place to buy property. The Granadilla council proudly protect the area and will only allow sensitive and gradual expansion, this means that property will always be at a premium here and will give a good rental or resale return.
